  1. I’m having these same issues, in fact I just came online to do some “important stuff,” like adding a book to my Amazon wish list and sorting through my reader and unsubscribing to blogs that don’t inspire. Anyways, here I am cheating. This internet is a seductive beast!

  2. This is great. I’ve been starting to reassess my reasons for being in some online environments – they can be such suckers of time, energy and emotion. It’s nice to know that other people feel the same way.

Best of luck with the continuing experiment.

  3. If you have access to the Agnes comic strip in a newspaper, you should look at the October 8th cartoon – it’s spot on for this situation! For those who read this and want to see it online, check here: http://comics.com/agnes/2010-10-08/

You are not alone. I looked at a game on Facebook, counted the number of times I played it, one minute each, divided by sixty… It was 30 hours of game time. Almost one whole work week. Wasted in tiny sixty second bits here and there. Life is too precious to waste it in there, but we don’t notice when it slips away in small bits.

  5. I have left FB for a while with a status stating so. Haven’t been there in over 48 hours and I am feeling plugged in and connected….to my LIFE and MYSELF. I have also accomplished so much in the last two days. Love the cartoon link you posted, Tricia.
I feel that there will be a revolution of people getting off of Fb and Twitter.
I feel kind of rebellious :-)
