Somewhere through your website, I learned of Errol Murphy, the dear sweet man who sells vintage postage stamps at face value. I contacted him yesterday about getting some stamps & he was happy to oblige. He even said he’d put my order in the mail (although he did not have my check yet)! Unreal. He used to live here in Santa Barbara, so we had a nice little “chat”.
I so treasure your book, Girls. I have read it & reread it several times & refer to it almost every day. A PaperBackSwap buddy turned me on to Mail Art when I sent him a book he requested & I decorated the package like I always do. He said did I know about Mail Art? Nope, not till he shared w/me & I could not be more delighted to have a new outlet. It was just the boost I needed!
Don’t you love it when things happen right when you need them to?

Hi Jil!
Thanks so much for leaving this comment. It’s so gratifying to know that people are having fun (and enjoying the book). Even better, I am a PaperBackSwapper myself, so the cockles of my heart are extra warm. I can’t believe that you decorate your PBSwap packages.
Excuse me, but now I am your fan.
Postally yours.

Hello,
I commented on the CALL FOR CORRESPONDENTS post previously using this same information. I am a little overwhelmed, busy, and hoping to open a PO Box to make myself feel better about putting my address out there. If you wouldn’t mind deleting the previous comment so that I can update it at a later time? I didn’t realize that they could not be edited later. :-/
Thank You!

LOVE YOUR WEBSITE. TERRIFIC FIND. JUST PURCHASED THE GOOD MAIL DAY BOOK TODAY.
I’VE BEEN A LONG TIME STAMP COLLECTOR AND HAVE LOTS OF STAMPS, DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN, THAT I CAN MAKE AVAILABLE TO INTERESTED PARTIES FOR A NOMINAL FEE. IF ONE HAS A SPECIFIC THEME OR COUNTRY IN MIND I CAN SEE WHAT I HAVE. I’D BE HAPPY TO OBLIGE.
HAVE RECENTLY BRANCHED OUT INTO MAKING MY OWN STAMPS THANKS TO A MARVELOUS HP PRINTER AND A PAIR OF PERFORATING SCISSORS. NOW I’VE REALLY GOTTEN INTO MAKING MY OWN ENVELOPES AND THE RUBBER STAMP COLLECTION HAS GROWN CONSIDERABLY. NOT TO MENTION ALL KINDS OF PAPER, PENS, STICKERS……ALL THIS WHILE MAINTAINING MY LIFE AS A DECORATIVE PAINTER AND STARTING A BLOG CALLED “THE DAISY REPORT”.
BEST REGARDS, EDWARD

Hi – I enjoyed your book very much! I am the ARt Liaison for my daughter’s arts-focused elementary school and would love to do a mail art call to have some artists send me mail art that I can put on display. We are an arts-focused school but there is little extracurricular art so I am trying to think of creative ways to bring more to the kids. Would you be able to help me connect to many fans you have to make this happen? thanks

Hi Clara, and welcome!
Thank you for the nice words about Good Mail Day!
I love your idea–I think that when kids are exposed to the world of mail and mail art, many of them honestly think it’s like magic (like we grown-ups do!). If you have a specific call for entries, why not leave it (with an address) in the Call for Scribblers, Mail Artists, and Pen Friends post — I’m sure that people there would LOVE to help out!

So true! There are so many forms of art and sometimes you don’t realize it’s art so exposing the kids to as many forms as possible is one of my goals. It will open their eyes to a whole new world. Thank you for the suggestion – I will post my call. Thank you so much for your reply!

Hello Post addicts, I am so happy to find people who like me have a post addiction. I have loved the mail as long as i can remember. I adore mail esp Mail Art. i am going to get your book as fast as i can to see what i can do to recieve mail and to be a better letter sender. I just wanted to say how happy this has made me. Try sharing this with some one who sees post simply as the mail. I have an obession with it and i am a mixed media artist so it goes hand in hand. I now live in Henderson Nevada. I will come some time in this new year and take a class from you . My aunt lives in Hayward its close to SF which i love also. Milk is calling for artists for our February mail art show! No packages will be opened, envelopes unsealed…art must go through the post and be ready for display. Any packaging must be the art itself. Postcards have already started to arrive and we have heard rumors of objects to be sent. Art will be for sale at a 50/50 ratio to artist and gallery. Include your address on the art in order for compensation for sales to be forwarded! Any unsold art will not be sent return post due to the volume of works being received. Artwork needs to be received in the gallery by February 1st. Please mail your awesome art to 212 13th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.

My name is Michelle and I am a married 42 yr old mama of two teenage girls. We live in Upstate New York. I love the color pink and Harry Potter, the movies and the books. I am probably addicted to the internet and my Ipod. I am very creative but I wouldn’t say I’m an artist. I knit, crochet, doodle and mess around with whatever looks fun. My husband says I sound like a truckdriver because I swear way too much. I am interested in female penpals from anywhere in the world. Send me an email and we can exchange addresses.

Hello other people who like real mail. I need a bit o’ help. I get lovely letters with real postage but the stamps not like the kind available at my local PO. They only have the most recent releases or a bit from the previous year or two. Where can I get older ones? Thanks in advance and Happy Mail Day to everyone, everyday!
